Summary

The Meals on Wheels Cook will be responsible to the NAANDWECHIGE-GAMIG and under the general direction of the Wikwemikong Home Care Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • To plan and prepare well balanced diet specific meals according to Canada’s Food Guide
  • To plan all monthly meals menus according to diet specifications, and make meal adjustments as client need changes occur.
  • Assist in maintaining the client individual health profiles (Like/dislikes, allergies)
  • Assist in maintaining the client list for each day delivery, ensure the meals are delivered in a timely manner, and aid in the delivery of prepared meals to clients
  • Inventory of food & supplies, and placing the orders with Community Support Services Worker
  • Participate in workshops pertaining to meal preparation, standards, and kitchen practices.
  • Maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety in the kitchen and other related duties.

 

Qualifications

  • Post -Secondary courses specific to the Food Industry
  • Certification in Food Preparation & Food Handling
  • 1 – 2-year(s) experience in Food Service
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
