Communications Multimedia Technician

(Contract)

The Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT) Communications Department is seeking interested applicants for the position of Multimedia Technician. Under the direct supervision of the Communications Manager, the Multimedia Technician supports WUT’s digital communication infrastructure and strategy, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging information-sharing with the community and external partners. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the WUT website, mobile app, and LED sign, while contributing to the overall digital communications strategy of the department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Produce/develop communications materials.

· Attend and document various WUT activities and events for the community.

· Maintain, update, and manage content for the WUT website, mobile app, and LED sign.

· Collect and post digital content from departments and programs.

· Assist the monitoring of social media accounts.

· Create simple graphics and multimedia materials as required

· Support the Communications Manager with day-to-day digital communications tasks.

· Other duties as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Post-secondary education in communications, graphic design, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· A minimum of one year’s experience

· Experience/knowledge in Microsoft, and design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, and social media platforms are an asset.

· An understanding of social media, its strategies, and media relations is a must.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Creativity and innovation are preferred.

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

· Be able to multitask in fast-paced work environments

· Willing to learn and speak Anishinaabemowin

· Must have a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.

 

Salary: $65,009 (Grade 5 Step 1) Location: On-site
