Supervisor-Early Childhood and Parent Intervention Worker

 

Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services is seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Supervisor – Early Childhood and Parent Intervention Worker. Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT) Child and Family Services oversees and advocates for child and family matters by following the principals and ethics of Wiikwemkoong’s Gchi Naaknigewin, Wiikwemkoong’s Children’s Bill of Rights and Wiikwemkoong Community Standards. This will ensure the services are culturally appropriate to support the community’s children and families in alignment with Anishnaabe values and practices. The Early Childhood and Parent Intervention Workers will report directly to their immediate Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supports staff, strengthens community partnerships, and promotes the physical, emotional, and cultural well-being of children and families.

· Supervise, mentor, and support Early Childhood and Parent Intervention Workers.

· Develop and oversee early intervention and wellness programs for infants, children (0-5), and families.

· Build strong relationships with families, community members, and service partners.

· Monitor program outcomes, maintain accurate documentation, and complete required reports.

· Manage program budgets and ensure financial accountability and policy compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

· Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related social services field (preferred).

· Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience working with children and families in a First Nation community.

· Experience working with Indigenous families; knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge and respect of Anishnawbek culture, traditions, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings (Anishinaabemowin an asset).

· Clear Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check,

· Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License.

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, and travel as required.
